Just ordered the following setup last night:
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/FJXRJ8

Intel Core i7-8700k
Noctua NH-D15 CPU cooler
ASRock Z370 Killer SLI/ac modo
Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4-3200 16GB RAM
Samsung 960 EVO 250GB M.2 SSD (FAST)
MSI GTX 1080 8GB DUKE overclocked graphics card
SeaSonic 750W 80+ gold power supply

It was hard to drop that much money on a setup, but I've been working a lot of side jobs for a few years now and putting 95% of that money (or more) towards just bills and such. Toss is a few craigslist sales, plus some new discounts and coupons from NewEgg yesterday, and I pulled the trigger.

To compare this new rig, just in CPU power, to my current rig:

I am also going to see a jump from my GTX 560 to this GTX 0180
http://gpu.userbench...1080/3155vs3603

The crazy thing is that this won't even be my primary computer at home. This is for a special project, but for a few weeks I may use it for some Steam gaming.

Parts came yesterday. NewEgg failed MISERABLY at packaging the parts. The NewEgg box was damaged like someone was jumping up and down on the side of the box. The CPU box, power supply box, motherboard box, and graphics card box were also damaged, but unlike NewEgg, they seem to have better packaging inside their own boxes that I think saved them all.

It was so bad looking that I took a video of me unboxing things just in case I needed to show someone at NewEgg if something has issues.

Here are the parts in the obligatory "parts pile" photo...

Probably still should say something to newegg about the packaging.

Yeah, I am just waiting for a time when I can get on to chat with them and send them the unlisted YouTube links. Seems like they may no longer have an email address to send to...

I could call them, but it is hard to send them a link over the phone LOL
